Six Things to do this Thanksgiving with your Family

Thanksgiving is a day for being thankful. Many are surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Still, outside of the big traditional feast with a tasty turkey, there can be some downtime. So, here are six things you can do with your loved ones this Thanksgiving.

Watch Football

This Thanksgiving 2023, the NFL will have three games lined up for families to enjoy. It is important to note that is already a tradition for many to watch football during this holiday. A staple in the NFL is the Detroit Lions playing an early game and the Dallas Cowboys hosting a late afternoon game. This year, the NFL added a third game with the Seatle Seahawks hosting the San Francisco 49ers. So, while you’re waiting for your turkey to cook, tune into a game!

Black Friday Shopping

Many people in the United States look forward to Black Friday every year. Black Friday is when stores, nationwide, offer once-a-year deals. Some stores start their deals the night of Thanksgiving (but this trend is slowly disappearing as retailers honor their employees’ family time.) Nevertheless,  after your big feast, go online and check what’s on sale. Black Friday is a great day to stock up on gifts for the holiday season.

Movie Night

A classic Thanksgiving movie is ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.’ This movie is a great reminder to be thankful for what you have and it plays every year on Thanksgiving on CBS. Other notable Thanksgiving movies are Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Blind Side, A Looney Tunes Thanksgiving, and Turkey Hollow. Sitting around the TV wrapped in warm blankets and watching a movie is the ultimate memory for the holiday season if you ask us.

Campfire with Smores

End the holiday with a tasty treat.  You and your loved ones can sit around the warm campfire and make some delicious smores. While you snack on some smores you can take turns and go around the campfire to share what you are thankful for this year. Let’s not forget that Thanksgiving is all about being thankful for what you have.

Outdoor Games

There’s nothing better than fall weather! A nice, cool day with the fall leaves is a great environment to play some outdoor games with your loved ones. Common games are football, cornhole, KanJam, and pool games. It’s always good to get a little competitive within the family.
