Everything to know about the CMA Awards

Tonight is Country Music fan’s favorite night of the year! The stars will be in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena at 8 pm EST for the 57th annual Country Music Association Awards. The show will exclusively air on ABC and stream on Hulu starting Thursday. Country star Luke Bryan and Hall of Fame football player Peyton Manning will be the hosts for the night.
What is the CMA’s?
This night celebrates the accomplishments of the within-the-country genre and honors artists, writers, and producers for their work. Every year the top country stars attend to perform and present awards on the big stage. Country fans are in for another great show this year. Here is what to expect this year at the CMA Awards.
Nominations This Year
Lainey Wilson has already made history this CMA as the first artist to have the most nominations within her first two years on the ballot. The Watermelon Moonshine singer has nine nominations this year. Behind is rookie singer and songwriter Jelly Roll with five nominations.
The holy grail of awards at the event every year is Entertainer of the Year. This year the award is stacked with top-level talent including Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, and Lainey Wilson. Combs won the prestigious award in 2022.
The Best New Artist category is also stacked, the award Wilson took home last year. This year Jelly Roll, Zach Bryan, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, and Hailey Whitters are up for the award.
Performances at the CMA Awards This Year
Country fans will get to see some of their favorite acts perform on stage this year. The CMA’s performance lineup has a handful of nominated artists. Some of them are Dan + Shay, Jordan Davis, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Chris Stapleton, Ashley McBryde, Lainey Wilson, and Zac Brown Band. Fans were teased early last week with an anticipated performance with HARDY, Morgan Wallan, and rapper Post Malone. The “Congratulations” singer has mentioned in the past his love for country music. Fans will have to wait to see what the three big artists have in store.
How to Watch CMA Awards
You can watch the 2023 CMA Awards exclusively on ABC at 8 pm EST. The “On the Red Carpet: Countdown to the CMA Awards” will be a 30-minute special. The red carpet will air at 7:30 pm and feature interviews with a handful of artists on ABC.
