Transforming schools and communities through the art and science of growing vegetables, indoors, all-year-round
Stephen Ritz and Green Bronx Machine are transforming classrooms and communities by teaching students around the world how to grow and cook their own vegetables. Green Bronx Machine’s students grow, eat, and love their vegetables en route to spectacular academic performance. Their favorite crops are healthy students, high-performing schools, graduates, registered voters, living wage jobs, and members of the middle class.
Right now, more than 600 schools currently use Green Bronx Machine’s program and are seeing incredible results and better-performing students throughout. The program has been recognized as a Top 10 Health and Wellness Program in the United States by the Harkin Institute and has even won an Emmy Award for its appearance in the television series, Growing a Greener World. Green Bronx Machine is expanding exponentially, and you, too, can be involved!
