The Houston region faces many challenges regarding transportation air pollution and the health of its residents that will likely worsen if appropriate actions are not taken. Industries along the Houston Ship Channel, sprawling highways, and neighborhood polluters all contribute to Houston’s poor air quality. Air Alliance Houston recognizes that Houston’s metropolitan area is a place of diversity where each community faces different challenges and needs related to their environment. Their campaigns take into consideration the various air quality issues and environmental injustices in local neighborhoods, focusing on advocating with underserved community residents who experience disproportionate and cumulative impacts from multiple sources of air pollution. Air Alliance Houston works every day to ensure that all Houstonians can breathe clean air.
