Sickle cell disease (or SCD) is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders that prevents the normal flow of nutrition and oxygen, typically affecting the African American and Hispanic American populations. The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research (FSCDR) has created a center specifically made for sickle cell disease patients in which they cater to every need and provide wrap-around services for these individuals.

President and founder Dr. Lanetta Bronte-Hall provides more insight into what the foundation has to offer for these patients.
