When it comes to wellness, there are the obvious staples we’ve had drilled into our minds.

From exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and getting enough sleep, we’ve heard it before. However, there are some overlooked wellness tips that can also help women feel their best.

So, here are some of the best wellness tips for women that you may not have thought of before!

1.Prioritize your sexual health.

Sexual health is an essential aspect of overall wellness and this is  often overlooked. Make sure to get regular sexual health check-ups, including Pap smears and STI testing. Also, use protection during sexual activity to reduce the risk of STIs and unwanted pregnancy. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to discuss sexual health concerns with your healthcare provider, as they can provide valuable information and resources.

2.Practice gratitude.

Gratitude is a powerful tool for improving mental and emotional well-being. Take some time every day to reflect on the things you’re grateful for — whether it’s a supportive friend, a warm cup of tea, or a beautiful sunset. A trick for implementing this into your daily life is taking thirty seconds to marvel at something beautiful… really revel in it for thirty seconds. You can do this as many times a day as you like. These moments add up to a beautiful life. It is  all about perspective.

3.Practice good posture.

Good posture is not only important for preventing back pain and improving physical health, but also for boosting confidence and self-esteem. Make sure to sit and stand up straight, with your shoulders back, and your head held high as often as you can. Avoid slouching or hunching over your desk or phone; this can strain your muscles and cause pain.

4.Take breaks from technology.

In today’s digital age, it’s easy to become addicted to technology and spend hours scrolling through social media or binge-watching TV shows. However, excessive screen time can negatively impact your mental and physical health. Make a conscious effort to take breaks from technology. Instead, try going for a walk, reading a book, or spending time in nature. Another good practice is to set limits on your screen time and avoid using electronic devices before bedtime –the blue light can interfere with your sleep.

5.Connect with nature.

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and boost overall well-being. Make time to go for a hike, take a bike ride, or simply sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. You can also bring nature indoors by incorporating plants and natural elements into your home decor.

There are many ways to start taking care of yourself and at the end of the day, it’s really just about treating the mind and body with your version of self- love.
