Approximately 37 million adults in the United States have chronic kidney disease — that’s 15% of the U.S. population. When caught early and treated, the disease can be managed. However, once kidneys fail, treatment with dialysis or a kidney transplant is needed. During dialysis, you may experience poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. This can lead to low protein levels, malnutrition, and/or weight loss. As a result, you may not feel your best and have difficulty tending to your daily activities.

Given as added nutrition during dialysis, Proplete® IDPN and IPN provides your body with protein, a minimal amount of dextrose, and for some patients, it may also contain lipids for additional calories.

There are two types of Proplete therapies that can provide significant amounts of needed protein when dietary counseling or supplements are not enough: IDPN or IPN are nutritional therapies specifically designed for patients with end-stage renal disease that can improve a patient’s quality of life.
