As the world continues to face environmental challenges, more and more people are looking for ways to live sustainably. Whether you know it or not, cleaning products tend to have toxic chemicals in them, but there are ways you can avoid using these types of products.  Besides, they are not the most environmentally friendly either.

This year, spring cleaning can be a great opportunity to make changes to your daily routine that can truly benefit the environment. This is why we want to share five tips for eco-friendly spring cleaning in 2023. Find them below!

From being mindful with the products you use to your cleaning behaviors, there’s a lot you can learn from these tips.

  1. Use natural cleaning products.

Traditional cleaning products often contain harsh chemicals that can harm the environment. Instead, look for natural alternatives like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice. These natural products are just as effective at cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, and they won’t harm the environment.

  1. Reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Spring cleaning often involves getting rid of items you no longer need. Instead of throwing these items away, consider donating them to a local charity or thrift store. If an item can’t be reused, make sure to recycle it properly.

  1. Use energy-efficient appliances.

If you’re in the market for new appliances, look for energy-efficient models. These appliances use less energy, which reduces your carbon footprint and can save you money on your energy bills.

  1. Clean with microfiber cloths.

Have you tried  replacing paper towels with microfiber cloths? They are a great alternative! Best of all, it is eco-friendly. These cloths are reusable and can be washed and reused again and again. They’re also more effective at cleaning than traditional paper towels.

  1. Use natural air fresheners.

Some air fresheners  contain harsh chemicals. So, try using natural alternatives, such as essential oils. Not only do they not contain chemicals, but they also have a lovely aroma — way better than your usual cleaning supplies. These oils can be diffused into the air using a diffuser, or you can mix them with water and spray them into the air. To top it all off, they also provide therapeutic benefits!

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be harmful to the environment. These small changes can add up to an eco-friendly household, and will make you feel better about your impact on the earth.

Stay green!
