Empowering the Creators of Tomorrow
“Women made up nearly 60 percent of the US professional workforce in 2014. So how come they only make up one quarter of computer science jobs?” Microsoft had that same question. Join Julie Moran and The Balancing Act for a very special “Be The Change” initiative. YouthSpark is Microsoft Corporation’s global initiative to increase access for all youth to learn computer science, and it includes amazing programs to help girls around the world gain access to technology skills and resources. YouthSpark’s goal isn’t just creating computer scientists and software engineers. Giving girls and other underserved young people the opportunity to develop computational thinking and problem solving skills helps them not only to more effectively use technology, but to actually become the creators of tomorrow.
